Renting with Treveth

Our open market rental housing is owned by Treveth and leased to a tenant. Treveth Homes is the landlord, and tenants deal directly with a management company caring for the property on our behalf. Tenants occupy the properties under a tenancy agreement and pay full market rent. 

Open market rental homes for Cornish people

Treveth’s open market rental homes are for local people who live, work, or have a family connection in the immediate vicinity of each site. All applicants need to provide proof of a connection to the local area by meeting one of the following criteria: 

  • Having been a permanent resident in the local area for a continuous period of at least 12 months prior to advertising 
  • Having been a permanent resident in the local area within the last three years and for a continuous period of at least 12 months 
  • Having one or both named tenants in established employment (16 hours or more) within the local area 
  • Having one or both named tenants relocating to the local area for employment reasons (16 hours or more)
  • Being an existing tenant of Treveth Homes and in need of an increase or decrease in accommodation size. You will be prioritised for re-lets if available, subject to previous good tenancy behaviour 
  • Having a connection through a close family member (normally mother, father, brother, sister, son, or daughter) where the family member is currently a resident in the local area and has been so for a continuous period of at least five years

Three-year leases

We offer family-friendly, three-year tenancy agreements as standard. This provides you with long-term security and stability, allowing you to put down roots in your community.

Fair rental fees

We set rent in line with the local open market rates where we will consider local income and affordability. We review our rent figures annually, with any rent increases set at a maximum of 5%.

You can enjoy a high-quality property from Treveth which is often larger than average in size. We maintain your property to a high standard throughout the duration of your tenancy and ensure the wider estate is well maintained. We retain the stewardship and management of our estates which allows us to ensure a continued high standard across all areas.

Helping you with energy costs

Our open market rental properties all have an EPC rating of C or above, and where possible, we strive to achieve an A rating. As a result, our residents enjoy the benefits of reduced running costs.

We instruct a local letting agent who knows the area inside out. All of our letting agents provide an excellent, face-to-face service.
