Treveth is proud to be a globally recognised B Corporation™ (B Corp), one of the first developers in the UK to achieve this respected certification. Furthermore, we believe Treveth is the first local authority owned company to achieve B Corp status. The B Corp certification applies to all companies under the Treveth umbrella, including Perran Housing.
What does this mean?
Businesses that are certified B Corps meet the highest standard of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.
Applicants are required to exceed a benchmark score of 80 out of 200. For our first assessment, in 2023, Treveth has secured an overall score of 95.2, a significantly high score for a business working in the property and development industry.
Treveth’s B Corp certification recognises the positive impact Treveth has made within the region, taking a lead on bringing sustainable new build homes and commercial developments to Cornwall, for Cornish people.

All certified B Corps are required to undertake the assessment and verification process every three years to retain their B Corp status, as well as to commit to continuous improvement. Treveth has a strong commitment to good governance, alongside an ambitious and industry leading approach to environmental and social sustainability, such that we should be able to sustain our B Corp status for years to come.
As part of our continuous improvement, we are actively progressing our first carbon inventory and strategy, with the University of Exeter’s Centre for Energy and the Environment, which will identify measurable targets for further annual reductions.
We will also shortly be publishing our first Impact Report, developed with and produced by The Good Economy, demonstrating the implications, for people and the environment, of the work we are doing locally. These measurable steps we are taking across the business, will enable annual performance targets to be set. We are also engaging with and learning from other B Corps in the region through the ‘B Local’ network, as well as engaging with our sector, nationally, via the B Corp Built Environment group.
