Design Coordinator

We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity for an experienced Design Coordinator to join our growing team.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Design Manager and working closely with the Technical Manager, the role assists on the design and technical aspects of Treveth’s projects. Working across a range of projects, on a day-to-day basis, in collaboration with Treveth’s assigned Development / Project Managers. Key areas of overview include the coordination of design and technical information such as drawings and specifications.

Assist in the review and development of detailed project information, contractors design information, quality and compliance from pre-acquisition through to handover and aftercare, supporting the delivery of a quality product, safely, within agreed budgets and timescales and resulting in excellent customer satisfaction.

This is a collaborative role promoting good quality, sustainable design principles whilst ensuring value for money and the viability of Treveth’s schemes, working in a coordinated manner with Treveth’s Design Manager and across all other disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to and working alongside the Senior Design Manager the role will assist on the coordination of design and technical information from inception to completion (RIBA 0-6). This will include ensuring drawings, specifications and project information are kept up to date and issued amongst the team for review.
  • Coordinate information from Consultants, Employer’s agent and Construction Team and assist in overcoming issues and ensuring compliance by reviewing with Senior Design Manager and Technical Manager.
  • Support the ongoing management and continuous improvement of Treveth’s Housing Manual for residential and commercial schemes, that embody the principles of good quality, sustainable development but also seeking to balance the viability.
  • Manage the house type tracker to ensure each house type is regularly reviewed and updated in response to feedback or regulatory change. Coordinate revised information so that any updates can be implemented on site via the Project Manager.
  • Liaise with the Sales Team and coordinate information to external consultants for the production of marketing visuals, hoardings and social media information.
  • Assist the Technical Manager in discharging planning conditions, along with compliance to building control, mains services & highways information and ensure distribution to the team.
  • Assist in regular Design Team meetings, critique designs from external consultants for practicality, buildability and affordability in collaboration with other team members.
  • Coordinate drawings and specifications alongside the Construction Team for Tender purposes ensuring current information is provided and is reviewed before distribution.
  • Attend Design and Technical meetings and advise the Senior Design Manager & Technical Manager of outcomes.
  • Coordinate design reviews, tracking any actions through the process tracker

Information security and governance: Manage information in line with Treveth policies, procedures and guidance on subjects such as Data Protection, confidentiality, information security and sharing, the information lifecycle and data quality, to ensure compliance and efficient and effective information governance.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

  • Experience working in the development/construction sector as a Design Coordinator on high quality residential projects from inception to completion.
  • Additional experience in other sectors, particularly commercial, mixed use and/or regeneration, would be an advantage.
  • Full project lifecycle awareness including briefing, feasibility, design, planning, development, procurement, logistics, manufacture & assembly, commissioning, handover and post occupancy monitoring.
  • Strong Design / Technical review capabilities along with good organisational skills.
  • Good stakeholder management skills and demonstrable experience of working closely with contractors, statutory undertakers, planning, highways and environment officers and other relevant local authority consultees.
  • Commercial and financial awareness.
  • Demonstrable risk & opportunity management skills
  • A strong team player, able to offer a ‘hands-on’ approach and collaborate to get things done within a matrix organisation.
  • Architecture, Architectural technology, engineering or construction related degree or other relevant technical qualification.
  • Professional accreditation and/or CSCS card desirable.
